IWEA Global Wind Day Photo Competition

IWEA has teamed up with EWEA to award prizes for the best photos from Ireland in the global wind day photo competition. You simply enter your picture from Ireland into the EWEA competition which will be entered into both the EWEA competition but also into the IWEA competition. Many thanks to IWEA members: Energia, SSE Renewables and Siemens who have kindly sponsored the prizes for the best entries from Ireland. The competition will be open until 12 May at 20:00 CET.

IWEA extends its Best Practice Guidelines to Community Engagement and Commitment

The Irish Wind Energy Association have launched an extension to the “Best Practice Guidelines for the Irish Wind Energy Industry” with the publication of its “Best Practice Principles in Community Engagement & Community Commitment” document which sets out a number of clear of guidelines that IWEA members involved in wind development are encouraged to follow. The aim of these guidelines is to ensure that the views of local communities are taken into account at all stages of a development and that local communities can share in the benefits.
