Verifying and Optimising Wind Power Performance
09 May, 2012
This one day course for industry professionals wishing to learn more about the verification and optimisation of the performance of a wind farm allows the attendees to benefit from GL Garrad Hassan's extensive experience of project due diligence and performance optimisation, and avoid common mistakes and misconceptions. The presentations are supported by concise notes, practical examples and group discussions. Performance verification procedures and power curve warranties have to be defined and negotiated before the financial close of a wind farm project in order to minimise financial risk. The uncertainties of the power curve warranted by the manufacturer in relation to the wind farm site have to be quantified. During operation the verification test procedure has to prove that the turbines are within the acceptance levels. To compliment the warranties, the wind farm performance may be optimised and tracked through regular monitoring using tools that interrogate the SCADA data continuously recorded by each turbine and met mast on the wind farm.

4x4 Off-Road Training
16 May, 2012
For drivers who are engaged in forestry, construction, environmental, engineering and communications work, using a 4 X 4 vehicle is a necessity. Whether it be to transport equipment or to gather samples, the need to understand how to get the best from your vehicle and understanding it’s safety features is important. Most Off-Road incidents occur when a driver, through lack of confidence and training changes their mind during a manoeuvre. Many incidents result in a vehicle turning over with severe consequences. It is therefore prudent to ensure all drivers of such vehicles understand the capabilities and limitations of their 4 X 4. This course contains both a theory and practical element
