Outline of Training Course:
Who should attend?
Drivers who are required to take their vehicles off road either regularly or occasionally.
Course Objectives
- To enable the driver to operate their vehicle safely and with confidence.
- To minimize the risk of injury in the performance of their duties.
- To reduce damage claims and maintain brand image.
- To raise driver awareness, concentration and observation skills
Course Programme
A short theory session outlining the design features of the 4X4 vehicle, covering the on and off road abilities of such a vehicle. A practical session in the drivers own vehicle demonstrating how to negotiate all types of terrain, such as hill climbing, steep descent, traversing, gullies, pits and how to recover a beached vehicle.
Pre Course Requirements: A full licence for their vehicle category. One representative vehicle per two drivers will suffice
Assessment/Certification:
Each participant will be assessed on their driving techniques.
A completed driver risk assessment form for each participant will be supplied to their employer along with a certificate of attendance.
