The focus of the event is on Corporate PPAs, the potential for them in Ireland and what we as an industry and the Government as policymakers need to do in order to make them a more viable route to market for renewable generation.
Registration will start at 8.00am and the event commences at 8.30am with some opening remarks from our host, Arthur Cox’s Head of Infrastructure, Construction and Utilities Alex McLean, and CEO of the Irish Wind Energy Association Dr David Connolly.
David will formally launch a new report from Pöyry Cheaper and Greener: How renewable energy will deliver low-cost power to Irish homes and businesses which highlights the benefits to the electricity consumer of the proposed Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) and identifies some of the challenges facing the Irish Corporate PPA market.
This will be followed by a panel discussion from 9am to 10am bringing together renewable generators, corporate buyers and experts in the electricity market to look at how we can bring together wind farms and large energy users to create a thriving Irish market in Corporate PPAs.
